During his 5 years with the company, Mr. Shannon worked his way up from Marketing Assistant to Marketing Coordinator for Western Canada. Also, during this 5 year period, Mr. Shannon assisted with marketing programs that helped move IIP from a private company to a publicly traded company called International Properties Group, which was listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
During his time at IIP/IPG Mr. Shannon assisted with, and oversaw the Marketing of 3800 units in 28 Buildings across Canada and the United States, totalling more than 300 Million dollars. Mr. Shannon also helped develop many of the marketing programs, and strategies used by many real estate investment companies today.
Due to personal reasons, Mr. Shannon decided to move to Vancouver in 2001, where he began working for 20/20 Properties Inc. with John Murphy. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Findlay joined them. From 2001 to 2006 Mr. Shannon created, and oversaw all of 20/20 Properties Marketing and Sales programs across Canada. This included the marketing and sales of 1385 units in 21 buildings with a total value of $111,000,000.
In 2006, after helping 20/20 Properties change its structure to 20/20 Group Inc., which now had the divisions: 20/20 Properties Inc.; 20/20 Resorts Inc.; and 20/20 Financial, Mr. Shannon was no longer comfortable with the direction the company was taking, and decided to resign his position and move onto other challenges.
In late 2006, Mr. Shannon combined his marketing and sales expertise with Mr. Findlay’s acquisition expertise, and created Generation Properties Inc., which would focus mainly on income producing condominium products across Canada. The new company would have a low overhead business model, and allow investors to purchase quality investments at exceptional prices.
Since founding the company in 2006, Generation Properties has acquired, marketed and sold 321 units in 8 buildings for a total of $36.5 Million Dollars. These projects are spread out across Canada, and while they are still fairly new investments, they have all begun to perform as promised on the initial investor pro-formas that were given to the investors.
Since its’ founding, Generation Properties Inc., is still operating in accordance with our initial business model, and continues to offer exceptionally priced investment opportunities to our clients across Canada and the United States.
